DESIGN & FINE ART | A RESEARCH BOOK
The Problem
The boundaries between design and fine art are often treated as fixed—design is seen as functional and systematic, while fine art is framed as expressive and open-ended. This separation creates a limitation in how creative work is understood, practiced, and valued, especially for designers working between both disciplines.
The Solution
This research challenges this divide by using the book as both a research tool and a final artifact. Through a series of visual experiments, typographic studies, and documented iterations, the project explores how structure and expression can coexist. By merging design methodologies with fine art sensibilities, the work reframes the relationship between the two—presenting them not as opposites, but as interconnected approaches within a single creative practice.
